Course Credit & Load

1 ZU credit is equal to 16 in-class hours or 32 laboratory hours. Exchange students are strongly recommended to take 6 to 12 credits per quarter.

Course Registration Period

Please confirm your enrollment in your ZU courses at the course registration portal http://jwbinfosys.zju.edu.cn/ (Chinese only) by using your username and password (in the set you received after your arrival). The Faculty will send Acceptance Letter with registration dates by mail to all accepted incoming exchange students.
All successful registrations are based on class availability and conflicton-free schedules (both in classroom and examinations) on a first-come-first-serve basis.
All registrations MUST be completed via the course registration portal -- Administrators in College of Computer Science can help register for the exchange students.
In most cases, there will be vacancies for all or most of the courses, however, it is not guaranteed for late-comers.

Changes to Your Choice of Courses

You may change your courses in the beginning of the semester at the course registration portalhttp://jwbinfosys.zju.edu.cn/. Deadlines and policies are as follow:

Dropping or Withdrawing from Courses

There is no penalty if you have dropped any course during the FIRST week of each semester.
Then, the letter ‘W’ will appear next to the course title in the exchange transcript; and it does not affect your overall ZU term GPA and credits. ‘W' means ‘Withdrawn’.
Although the system can reduce the conflictions to a certain degree, it is YOUR responsibility to make sure that the courses you have selected do NOT conflict with each other.

Early Examination

Early Examination option is not available at ZU. All exam schedules can be found in the course registration system. They are fixed and will NOT be changed at any time. Should an exam date not be suitable for you (e.g. you are flying off early), you should better NOT to select that course.

Transcript & Credit Transfer

Please note that we will send two copies of your transcripts directly to the International Relations Office in your home university in either September or March.
Transfer of credit is entirely at the discretion of your home institution. It is strongly recommended that you check with your home institution with regards to credit transferability of your courses before you apply to ZU via the exchange program.
