Hua Wei (or Wei Hua)

Associate professor. He got Ph.D of applied mathematics in Zhejiang University, 2002.

He joined the State Key Lab of CAD&CG in 2002. He has studied in Kent Ridge Digital Labs, Singapore for one year, and visited the information school in East Anglia University, United Kingdom. His main interests include real-time simulation and rendering, virtual reality and software engineering. He is the author or co-author of 17 published papers, and the first author of six software products such as “Visual Scenario: Real-time 3D View Simulation system”, “HiVi: Video and CG synthesis system”, “RadM: rapid modeling system”, “Relievo: Image based modeling system”, “Macro Dimension: large-scale terrain editing system”, “Macro Dimension: large-scale terrain real-time rendering system”. Until now, his five inventions have been filed.

He has been the leader of the two projects in National High-tech Program, “the fast modeling, processing and real-time visualization system for large-scale multi-source and multiresolution spatial information” and “temporal-spatial information based landscape service system”, and one NSF project “geometric signal processing for large-scale scene”. He has taken part in one project in National Fundamental Science Research Program, “Fundamental theory, algorithm and implementation of virtual reality” as one of primary researchers.
