Abstract:
Travelling is a major constitute of life. Modern mapping and airmanship faciliates travelling, as the key lies on perception and comprehension of the real world and revolution and innovation of arithmetic of all kinds. This speech is to give an overall introduction on the arithmetic of Amap including automatic generation of routine mapping data, hyper-scaled track planning, temporal big data digging, search recommendation based on geological position and several future innovation orientations covering highly-precise mapping construction fusing image and point cloud, precise positioning based on vision and what-you-see-is-what-you-get AR navigation new model.
Personal introduction:
Chief scientist of Amap in Alibaba Group, Ren Xiaofeng is responsble for research and implementation of computer vision technology in mapping and travelling. Before joining Amap, he was chief scientist in Alibaba’s Machine Intelligence Lab, senior director scientist in Amazon and principal of Amazon self-service supermarket. He has been engaged in research of computer vision for years and was president of CVPR, ICCV, AAAI and other meetings. His research used to involve varying orientations of vision technologies including marginal detection, image segmentation, target detection and tracking, human body posture, video comprehension, behavioral cognition, man-machine interaction and the like. He graduated from the College of Computer Science and Technology, Zhejiang University, with a Bachelor’s Degree and won his doctorate in University of California, Berkeley.
