--Academician Pan Yunhe's explanation of Artificial Intelligence 2.0 and the Digital Economy in Turing Lecture.

This morning, Pan Yunhe, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a member of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, the Chairman of the New Generation of Artificial Intelligence Strategic Consultation Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the head of the Artificial Intelligence Technology Innovation Expert Group of the Ministry of Education, delivered a fascinating lecture entitled Artificial Intelligence 2.0 and the Digital Economy to the students of the Turing Class, Hybrid Class, and Qiu Shi Science Class of the Zhu Kezhen College at Zhejiang University, as well as to the entrepreneur students of the Continuing Education College of Zhejiang University, at the Turing Lecture Hall. Ge Jian, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Dean of the Zhu Kezhen College, Zhou Zhaonong, Dean of the Continuing Education College, and Shan Juehui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Computer Science at Zhejiang University, joined the students to listen to the enlightening lecture by Pan Yunhe. Peng Lieping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Computer Science at Zhejiang University, attended and presided over the event.

First of all, Secretary Peng Lieping introduced the general process and the attending guests of the event and invited Ge Jian, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Dean of the Zhu Kezhen College at Zhejiang University, to deliver a speech.

Dean Ge pointed out that The Turing Lecture Hall is a series of high-level lectures opened by Zhejiang University for the top computer science talents cultivation class. It deeply implements the Opinions of the Ministry of Education and other six departments on the implementation of the Program 2.0 for the cultivation of top-notch students in basic disciplines and aims to strengthen the spiritual appeal, academic guidance, and life guidance for top students through the words and deeds of academic masters and inspire students' academic interests by example.

Academician Pan Yunhe was the opening guest speaker of the Turing Lecture Hall, and Dean Ge Jian on behalf of the Zhu Kezhen College and the School of Computer Science presented a plaque of appreciation to Academician Pan Yunhe to express their sincere gratitude for his strong support in cultivating top-notch talents.

Amidst the warm applause, Academician Pan Yunhe delivered a keynote speech titled Artificial Intelligence 2.0 and the Digital Economy. 

He pointed out that the digital economy is an increasingly important driving force for global economic growth, playing an important role in accelerating economic development, improving labor productivity in existing industries, fostering new markets and industry growth points, and achieving inclusive and sustainable growth, and analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of China's digital economy development situation. Combining the global development trend of artificial intelligence, Academician Pan Yunhe elaborated on the development level of China's artificial intelligence.

In addition, Academician Pan Yunhe reviewed the development process of artificial intelligence, talked about the opportunities and challenges it faces, and pointed out the strategic role of the artificial intelligence industry in the national development. Then, he introduced the background and significance of the concept of Artificial Intelligence 2.0 and the challenges of the new generation of artificial intelligence applications. He believed that artificial intelligence is the strategic lever for the development of the digital economy, and that AI 2.0 technology will open up new frontiers for the development of the digital economy, with five major signs already emerging: combining deep learning and self-play evolution technology on big data, network-based collective intelligence has already sprouted, human-machine fusion enhances intelligence development rapidly, cross-media intelligence is emerging, and autonomous intelligent equipment is emerging.

Academician Pan encouraged the audience to actively think about several questions in his lecture: how to create intelligent products, how to successfully create new intelligent application systems, and how to increase intelligence in social governance. Using vivid examples from Amazon and the Daduhe hydropower enterprise, the academician illustrated the enormous potential of combining artificial intelligence with existing industries, and eagerly hoped that students could combine AI technology with more products to create various new industry chains.

At the end of the presentation, Academician Pan presented the report China Artificial Intelligence 2.0 Development Strategy Study, which was led by him and was a major consulting project of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, to the Turing Class and the Continuing Education College. The Turing Class monitor, Jiang Jingwei, and Ms. Li Xiaoyue, the director of the enterprise training department of the Continuing Education College, went on stage to accept the report.

After the report, Academician Pan took a group photo with the attending guests and all the students to commemorate the occasion.
