11-05-2021

On the morning of October 30th at 8:30, the 18th Turing Lecture was honored to invite Professor David S. Ebert from the University of Oklahoma in the United States to introduce the related knowledge of visual analytics to Turing class students. Professor David S. Ebert is the winner of the 2017 IEEE Computer Society VGTC Technical Achievement Award and a member of the IEEE VGTC Visualization Academy. Due to the impact of the epidemic and other factors, this report was held in the form of a Zoom online conference. In the report, Professor David S. Ebert combined his research direction and explained to the students in a simple and understandable way what visual analytics is, the applications of visualization in daily life, and the future development prospects. After the report, the students actively asked questions, gained a lot from it, and were eagerly looking forward to the next Turing Lecture.
