讲座题目：Computer Vision and Graphics Research at The University of Hong Kong

报告摘要：

This talk introduces recent research activities in the computer vision and graphics group at the University of Hong Kong. It gives an overview of recent projects on computational photography, computer animation, facial expression recognition, image-based modeling, geometry processing as well as texture analysis and synthesis. I further present a data-driven photo enhancement project in greater details. In this project, we develop an interesting technique for enhancing a desired color theme in a digital photo using a database of photos downloaded from Flickr.

In the rest of the talk, I also present the internship program and the PhD early admission scheme in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Hong Kong. Interested students are welcome to apply to these programs.

讲座人简介：

Yizhou Yu is a professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Hong Kong and an adjunct professor at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He received a PhD degree in Computer Science from University of California at Berkeley. Dr Yu has conducted a considerable amount of research in computer graphics, computer vision, and image processing. He is a recipient of best paper awards at ACM SIGGRAPH/EG Symposium on Computer Animation, National Science Foundation CAREER Award and Microsoft Fellowship. He was a program co-chair of Computer Animation and Social Agents 2011 and Pacific Graphics 2009. He has also served on the program committee of many leading international conferences, including SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAPH Asia, and International Conference on Computer Vision.
